大财神和他的小财神 Kung Hei Fat Choy
创作灵感 Inspiration
Kung Hei Fat Choy! The four Cantonese syllables—literally “Congratulations, may you prosper”—are the most instantly recognisable New-Year greeting in Lingnan culture. They embody an age-old Chinese belief in auspicious speech: say something lucky, and good fortune gravitates toward the sound.
Inspired by this verbal talisman, XIQI ART stages a miniature comedy in bronze and glaze. At centre stands Little Chubby, the “Great Fortune-God,” grinning atop a gilt cloud; perched on his shoulder, the junior Fortune-God, presses his palms together in respectful salute. Their tiered pose offers a gentle reminder: the pursuit of wealth passes from one generation to the next, yet balance is essential—plant your feet first, and blessings can rise one layer at a time.
Clad in festive crimson and jade-green, with a hint of Christmas mischief, these cross-cultural Fortune-Gods broadcast their merged East-meets-West goodwill to every corner of the globe. May your words delight others and yourself alike, may joy stay close at hand, and—on a foundation of steady inner resolve—may lasting prosperity follow.
