Drawing on the airborne grace of the national treasure Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow—and the lucky maxim “first out of the gate” it implies—XIQI ART re-imagines the Han-dynasty masterpiece Bronze Galloping Horse with its signature touch of humor, sending the ancient steed skyward once more in a contemporary key.
Atop the stallion vaults XIQI’s classic Little Chubby : a plump body and pocket-sized wings set in sharp, endearing contrast to the horse’s taut, powerful lines. Here, weightlessness meets force, unleashing a theatrical surge of motion that fills the space with playful, free-floating buoyancy—like a celestial steed roaming the skies, vibrant and alive.
Three legends merge in a single form: the compact strength of the blood-sweating Ferghana horse, the fiery coat of Lü Bu’s Red Hare, and the smooth, rapid “single-lead” gait prized in pacing champions. Captured at the most explosive instant—hooves cleaving mist—scarlet speaks of good fortune, while the sure-footed stride foretells effortless progress.
Shape, spirit, and color align to charge the viewer with an energy of “first to lead, light to rise”—a winged, sky-galloping blessing for unbridled success.
